Description

Heterodontosaurus tucki, a small basal ornithischian with it's famous canine teeth.
All heterodontosaurids were small, mostly herbivorous, but probably omnivorous, dinosaurs that were primarily bipedal. They are well known for their large canine teeth jutting from their upper jaw, their palpebral bone over their eyes that made them look angry, and a rough filamentaceous integument with long coarse bristles.
A study found that their feet were well adapted to climbing, so these generalist herbivores may have had a role similar to some monkeys or rats.

Heterodontosaurus itself was roughly 1.2 meters long, which is pretty average as far as heterodontosaurids go.
It was found in early jurassic South Africa.
