Description
Anchiornis huxleyi
As a basal avialan Anchiornis is a very bird-like dinosaur, and it is very well understood.
With it's distinct colour-scheme that is already known, it looks quite a lot like a clawed, tailed woodpecker.
It is a fast-running animal that chases small-ish animals in the underbrush and capable of short powered flight, allowing for an extra burst of speed or to escape from an attacker.
Anchiornis builds small nests in low trees, such as cicads, made from branches and feathers.
They care for the chicks for a moderate ammount of time.
With it's clutching feet it can still use RPR, but only on small animals, unlike dromaeosaurs....
Anchiornis is a small animal that needs to watch out from bigger predators, so they often congregate in small groups where more pairs of eyes can more easily spot predators.
